Postdoctoral Researcher in the Cognitive Neuroscience of Maladaptive Decision Making at the University of Chicago
The Bakkour Memory and Decision Laboratory in the Department of Psychology (PI: Akram Bakkour) at the University of Chicago is seeking a full-time Cognitive Neuroscience Postdoctoral Researcher to join the team and head an NIH-funded project in collaboration with Dr. Jennifer Wildes in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience.
The project aims to uncover the cognitive computational and neural mechanisms of value construction that underlie normative and maladaptive decision making. The postdoctoral researcher will lead this effort and utilize complementary methods, such as eyetracking, fMRI, and computational models of behavior. The postdoctoral researcher will thus have ample opportunity to combine the tools of cognitive neuroscience with those of computational psychiatry to uncover common and distinct mechanisms of subjective value construction in healthy and clinical populations.
