Postdoctoral Researcher in the Cognitive Neuroscience of Memory and Decision Making at the University of Chicago
The Bakkour Memory and Decision Laboratory in the Department of Psychology at the University of Chicago (PI: Akram Bakkour) is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join the lab.
The Memory and Decision lab is focused on understanding the cognitive and neural mechanisms by which relational memory guides and is influenced by decision making. To conduct our research, we use a combination of the tools of cognitive neuroscience; namely fMRI, eyetracking, computational modeling, and neuropsychological studies with patients that have known cognitive deficits (e.g., Amnesia, Parkinson’s Disease, Anorexia Nervosa). The postdoctoral researcher will initiate and lead new projects at the intersection of memory and decision making and contribute to ongoing projects. The lab has several exciting ongoing projects investigating the roles of learning, attention, stress, psychiatric and neurological disorders on memory and decision making to gain insight on the ways in which memory enters the decision process.
The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal. The start date is flexible.
